Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar Installation - 2019 Mini Cooper

Hi there Mini owners. Today in your 2019 Mini Cooper S, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Blue Ox's Alpha tow bar. And this is what our tow bar looks like when it's installed. The Alpha 2 tow bar is going to be a non-binding tow bar, which is an important piece to be able to disconnect your tow bar without any additional tools. We can see here that these levers are located on the arms of our tow bar, and when we get to our destination, if we're not perfectly straight when we park our motor home and our vehicle, and if we're not on perfectly level ground between the two, like if your vehicle here is a little bit curved this way, motor home's a little bit different, that can make removing the pins extremely difficult because once you drive off, they extend and lock it into an extended position. To release it from that locked position, you can press down on the lever. more

RoadMaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar Installation - 2006 Mini Cooper

Hey, everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2006 Mini Cooper, we're going to be checking out the Roadmaster Falcon Two Tow Bar. Before we kinda check the tow bar out itself and really kind of dig into it, I figured it would be useful just to kind of refresh yourselves on the five main components that we're going to need to flat tow a vehicle behind our motor home in the first place. First component is going to be a base plate, and that base plate is going to provide us with a solid and reliable connection point that way we can hook our tow bar up to it. Tow bar is going to be the second component, and, you know, this is going to provide us with the physical link that connects the front of our towed vehicle to the back of our RV. The third main component will be safety cables, and these are there in the event of an unlikely disconnect, these are going to keep both of our vehicles pair together. more

RoadMaster Falcon Tow Bar Installation - 2014 Mini Countryman

Hi there Mini owners, today on your 2014 Mini Cooper S Countryman edition, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install RoadMaster's Falcon All-Terrain Non-Binding Tow Bar. The Falcon All-Terrain Non-Binding Tow Bar is going to be one of five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle behind your motor home. Your tow bar is the connection between your motor home and your vehicle, but additionally also means your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar, your base plate, which provides a connection point for your tow bar on your vehicle, your diode wiring or magnetic lights, which will take all of the lighting signals from your motor home, transfer it to your vehicle, and allow all of those signals to be transferred for people around you to see it so they know your intentions when going down the road. And lastly, your supplemental braking system, which will apply the brake pedal in your vehicle when you hit the brakes in your motor home. The Falcon All-Terrain is a non-binding tow bar and what that means is we have levers here that will allow us to release the arms here so they can be retracted back in. Why this is important is because when you're hauling your vehicle behind your motor home and you stop and you want to disconnect if you're on any uneven type of pavement or terrain, it can cause the tow bar to get into a bind, making it very difficult to remove the pins from your base plate by pulling up on the lever here. It will release that so we can then move our arm, twist it, push it in and out a little bit, and that little bit of movement makes all the difference in getting these pins removed. more
